Regulatory Framework for Operating e-Commerce in Switzerland
In April 2016 the Federal Council adopted the “Digital Switzerland” Strategy. Superseding the Information Society in Switzerland of 2012, the new strategy aims to ensure Switzerland can benefit from increasing digitisation in all areas of life and develop even more dynamically as an innovative national economy and as a location for research and innovation.
Critical to Switzerland’s success in the digital arena is that representatives from the economy, science, research and civil society work closely together. A stable national framework is required and agreement therefore needs to be reached on key benchmarks (in terms of growth policy, innovation, infrastructures and environment, e-Government, education co-operation, security and confidence, and international integration).
